Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Eat your greens!

Addison started solid foods around five months. She didn't "love" the cereal. She'd keep her mouth closed, not make eye contact, etc. Then, she finally started to get a little more interested. A few weeks into it, we started introducing veggies and fruits. Green beans, apples, peas - and now carrots. In the last week or so, she's gotten way into eating her big girl food. And to really prove it, she pulled the funniest stunt at "school" the other day.

She typically eats some cereal and fruit in the morning at school. A couple hours later, she'll take a bottle. Well, on her six month birthday, when it was bottle time...she totally refused it. She looked at the other kids, eating big kid food, looked at the high chair, and flat out refused her bottle. So, Miss Patsy gave her some green beans! And that's totally what she wanted. She had a little bit, then drank her bottle. She's a big girl now! At least she likes her greens!

Five and change

Okay, so Addison has grown (just a bit). Every week, it's my goal to post something-anything-to document these early weeks and months. They've been thrilling, tiring, rewarding, confusing--but mostly, unreal. She is absolutely the most amazing baby girl. Ever. And even when she's on her sixth wake up of the night (she used to have the sleeping through the night thing down pat-and now she doesn't-I miss those days!) I still find myself, stumbling back to bed, thanking God for my sweet, sweet baby girl.

I could go back and recount the last six months (in some foggy detail, that is)-and maybe at some point I'll do that in words or pictures (there's lots of cute ones!) but for now...I've succeeded in my goal of squeaking one little post in before her six month birthday.

My second goal is tucking myself into bed before she decides to wake up!
